"I drove 45 mins to Harrisonburg to visit the GW bins on Friday, July 11, 2025. The store was extremely clean inside and out. When I first walked in, it didn’t seem like a lot was available, I thought to myself, ‘Well this won’t take long.’ It did take a while, but I found a ton of great stuff, including Reed & Barton silver cake server, 100% cotton king size sheet set (super cute😍), Christmas decorations, top whistle tea kettle, and tons of name brand clothing and shoes. It does take time and patience to dig through the bins as everything is in disarray and can even have matching pieces in separate bins completely apart from each other. For instance, I found a Keen hiking sandal in one bin, found the other 3 isles over. The young man at the register that checked me out, was super friendly and informative. As we talked, I learned that the bins were considered to be low in stock that day and Mondays typically have a much more. I highly suggest wearing gloves while shopping, as the items are constantly being handled by so many shoppers, and in the clothing section there are some dirty worn garments (please donate AFTER washing). This was my first visit to bin shopping, and I was pleasantly surprised. I look forward to visiting this location again!🙂"
"Weirdly set up with everything tossed into bins. It’s like a treasure hunt if you enjoy that sort of thing. Items are sold by the pound starting at $1.89 per pound for anything under 25 pounds. Goes down to $1.49 per pound from 26-50 pounds , etc"
"Go with a sense of adventure and be ready to laugh at some of the "finds" you can't believe weren't trashed instead of donating. Each visit has led to some "treasures" for my family, but it does take time and good attitude as you may leave empty-handed some visits. Make sure to bring your bags for goodies you do find. Gloves are probably good too or a good drenching of sanitizer after checkout as some clothes should have been tossed and not donated! Cashiers have always been lovely here: sociable and kind. They should be given permission to shop at least once weekly and not banned due to working here as plenty of stuff to share despite obvious resellers with heaping carts. Take a friend and laugh together on opposite sides of the bins while you do cheap adventure "digging" shopping for a good cause. :) Prov 17:22 "A cheerful heart is like good medicine.""
"It’s okay but found used tissues in the coat pockets, opened boxes with missing products, and not disability friendly. I stood ten minutes waiting for a cart and my back is bad. She kept telling me you got people in front of you waiting. No there wasn’t anyone waiting. I almost cried when she handed the empty cart to a random customer who was walking around. I had enough and took a random cart I found that was sitting for a while with nothing in it. That woman should be retrained in recognizing disabled people. I almost collapsed because I’ve been waiting too long. No compassion. Now the good stuff… I found nearly new items that were nice and high quality a couple of times. I just wish they clean out the bins of garbage and empty packages…."
