"Don't let the 2 stars scare you off before reading through. This was my first time at a goodwill outlet, with descriptions being my only expectation. I was blown away by the size of the building with its blue bins as far as the eye could see, overflowing with items. Then my awe rapidly dwindled as I rummaged through the first bin. Due to the sifting process, nothing in these bins are organized whatsoever, and the items are not treated with respect: smashed cds with jagged shards ready to cut you, board games and puzzles ripped open with their contents spread throughout various bins, books crushed under encyclopedic volumes which crumple their covers, etc. I would personally never donate to the goodwill outlet because of it. Plus, there is the danger aspect. They warn you with signs that you might get stabbed and even offer you gloves you can buy at the register. If none of this sounds bad to you, by all means, come here. In fact, the prices are the best in the land, only surpassed by some charity yardsale and booksale events. This place just wasn't for me."
"I enjoy going to the outlet and finding the treasure that you can sometimes come across while digging through the bins. It isn’t a normal thrift store experience, but I like the hunt. My issue isn’t so much with the store as it is with the hours and the clientele. I was in line behind 22 water bottles and bags. When I left (before the store even closed for the first half of the day) there were already 2 water bottles and one bag “waiting” in line for the 3 o’clock opening time. If you’re insisting on these awful block hours being the new normal, then can you please enforce some sort of system where a single water bottle doesn’t hold the place of an entire family while they sit in their car or get breakfast/lunch? Without rotations it’s pretty hard to find decent items after the first hour of being open (and I dig from one side of the bin to the other, it isn’t for lack of trying.)"
"Love going here to restock inventory items and get some items for personal use. You never know what you’re going to find. I like their prices, under $3 / per pound of household goods and clothes. Good deals are hard to come by in life, then there’s Goodwill a shining diamond in the rough of great deals. I only have interacted with staff while checking out but they seem friendly and helpful. Other patrons of the store have been helpful and nice as well. 5 stars to the Goodwill Outlet!!"
"Bring gloves and hand sanitizer. Take a spacious vehicle or preplan with a friend with a truck if buying furniture. It is first come first serve. They will not watch your sold furniture and there is no guarantee it will still be there when you return. Pros: You can find really awesome furniture, tools, housewares, clothes at great prices. Seriously, I got a handmade mosaic coffee table for $3 and a super comfy rolly chair for $2. Once even found a signed 1st ed. book worth $200 & a friend got a a bunch of copper wiring he resold for a $175 profit. Cons: It is completely unsorted and takes a long time to find close to what you're seeking, if it is even there. unless you serindipitously spot something while on a short visit you're better off just buying a new item rather than spending hours looking for that one model specific item or component. Some of the staff are apathetic, slow, or rude and will occasionally ignore you. Not the best place if you have anxiety disorders. The customers can be pushy and crowds large. Check on here for their busy level "live" feed before going or come premedicated. Some of the items can be cursed; albeit the effects are either relatively benign or only slightly annoying. E.g., Got a hexxed KJV bible that makes anyone who looks at it compelled to possess it forever. If you do hide or part with it, it respawns in an inconspicuous area like on a bottom bookshelf within a few weeks; the books which prior occupied that spot are displaced and I have never found them. Also found an evil pirated copy of Space Jam on VHS. So if a crowd of people in the checkout start demanding to have a dime-a-dozen item in your cart, just ditch it, if you still can."
