"More expensive than I thought it'd be. There's 2 rates, one for 'soft items' like clothes and one for 'hard items' like blenders, cups, Vases. Etc. Once you hit 100lbs, you get charged one rate ($1.80/per lb) regardless of it is hard or soft items or a combination. If you go apparently each box is 'owned' by a person/group who asked for it. (So you have to ask for a box to sort trough) and there are blue bins you sort them into that other people cant look in if you are going through it. I'm not sure if you can ask for more than one box at a time. There are scales you place your cart onto. Since the price varies per hard/soft items you should have them separated into 2 separate carts. Nor returns, items are sold as is."

"Okay, I am a pro-thrifter so I love me a bargain & will literally spend too much time going through all the racks to get the most bang for my buck. With this being said, it's been a while since I've shopped at a Goodwill (Mad Monk is my go-to) but man, it's changed. First off, I thought that they would have the weekly color tag discount, but when walking in I overheard a staff member tell a customer that discounts are only available on Tuesday & Wednesdays --- doesn't really make sense since a majority of people work during the weekdays & I would imagine they get more foot-traffic during the weekends. That's definitely an advantage for the business and not the customers. Second, PRICING is not competitive with other thrift/second-hand stores. If anything, you might as well pay the extra to get it brand new since their pricing is epxensive. The women's tops were all the same price! $5.79 for any top --- short-sleeve, long-sleeve, tank tops, sweaters, cardigans. ONE PRICE. The dresses were two prices - $6.19 & $5.79 I like to go through the racks and find the deals, but knowing that everything was about 6 dollars. It took the fun out of thrifting & I walked out of the door without purchasing which is definitely a rarity for me. I went to the two Modesto locations thinking that the pricing would be different (wishful thinking) but just further solidifies why I won't be back at a Goodwill any time soon."

"This an update in March 2024. The process has changed again. No more big cardboard bins assigned to a person with the potential to find valuable items. It appears that the new process which is the long blue bins are prefilled with the mediocre if not junk. I suspect anything of value is stripped for employee or friend or family or other resale, before the bin ever comes on the floor. At least for hard goods, I don’t purchase clothing. I never understand why clothing buyers are allowed to throw clothes all over the floor, or why people bring the infants toddlers and small running children. I'm off topic, I apologize. The blue bins have helped to reduce substantially, the items on the floor in near hard goods. That's an improvement. The blue bins have contents of very little to no value in them as if late. That's frankly suspicious.its been this way for at least 3 weeks. Unlike other GW outlet locations throughout Northern CA I've visited. I read each region runs their operations differently. This location seems to never have dedicated breakables bins or shelves, or shoe-footwear (for some reason i rarely see any shoes at all here, people in San Joaqin County don't donate shoes?), or books and media. Last a new behavior I've noticed which is good is as they roll blue bins to the floor, a staff will yell to the customers to nit touch or take from bin until they say it ok. This is good. The problem is people do it anyway and actually take things as soon as the 1 staff member turns their head. Or they hang out at the fence when the bin is in transit to the floor and the staff person pushing the bin LETS THEM DO IT. Not cool at all. Don't make the notice to not touch before the OK, then let people do it without admonishment or expulsion. Even when reported to staff, they shrug it off. I will continue to visit this location. Maybe spend less money. If the items continue to be of no value, I may skip it altogether."

"I've been to other bins, and as reviews on this page state, it's supposed to be priced by the pound. The employee counted my items, and instead of charging by the pound, charged by number of ITEMS. He said that if I bought more (I had a full cart), it would be by the pound. I think he lied."
