Goodwill Bins in Sacramento

"Many of the clothes in the bins are actually in great shape! Lots of good quality baby clothes too. This is a great place to come to give back to your community by taking some items home, throwing them in for a quick wash, and donating them to your local homeless shelter. This also helps the environment - these items are donated to people in need instead of sitting it a landfill after they are sent off from Goodwill Outlet. Overall, the staff and customers were very friendly and polite. I avoided the new bins because people swarm them like a Black Friday sale. The clothes were $1.54 per pound!"

"Weird. I went in expecting a nicely set up thrift store. But instead, there were troughs of random clothes and everything else all mixed together and thrown around in the bins. And the people there were aggressively digging through everything once the lady wheeled over the bins, just grabbing full bags and putting them in their carts without even knowing what's in them. It was definitely not a relaxing shopping experience. It was pretty hot in there because the ac is broken at the moment and the building smelled like urine. It was a strange experience since I've never been in a goodwill like that. I ended up going to the goodwill on Franklin and florin by the foodmaxx and had a much better time."

"I come here for the bargains. Clothing is $1.49/lb. It can be pretty messy in here, so I highly recommend bringing your patience, maybe some gloves, and leaving young kids at home. Plan for a couple of hours to sift through each of the bins. Be aware that when new bins are brought out, people lose their minds fighting to be the first to grab stuff. No thank you, I'm happy to wait. Parking can be tough some days."

"Bins come out differently now to reduce the congestion. Definitely a treasure hunt style of thrifting while others are also treasure hunting. It’s fun if you go into it knowing this is not your typical mellow style thrifting but more of a competition 😂😂 10/10 would go again for the cheap price and the hunt lol …"

"I am going to share my unbiased opinion of this goodwill as I am a regular and come usually twice a week. There will be times where something has been broken, spilled, or dirty, it is suggested to wear gloves when digging through the bins. Always wash your hands after digging through as you dont know where stuff has been. The clothes are usually not as dirty as the assorted toys/knick-knacks. Usually things aren't super bad though. The staff have been very friendly to me when I've interacted with them. As long as you A) dont get in the way of the bins when they're swapped out, B) you dont let your children run around too far away from you, C) you don't dig through the beens when they are putting new ones in. Sometimes they will even weigh my clothes with my other things which makes it cheaper! Books/DVDs/Vinyls are all 25 cents. This place is always crowded and usually all of the shopping carts are taken. I usually just use a bag to put stuff in as getting a cart is nearly impossible. When bins are swapped and newly replaced people tend to swarm around, if you want to find good things you'll probably have to get used to that chaos. However, some good stuff is still left over after the swarm of people. Shoes and clothes are usually more crowded, especially new shoes. If youre looking for a laid back calm environment, this may not be the place for you. Things are pretty cheap as its weighed by the pound although they've been slowly raising their prices. But usually I can get a full bag of stuff for like 7 dollars. I do stay longer though around 2-3 hours for bin rotations. People have complained about a group of guys who always come here and scalp all the good stuff to resell, im talking like 20 guys so, which kind of sucks but thats kind of the nature of this place. I see it as competitive thrifting, be quick and scout out or leave empty handed. Thats my feedback, overall I like the place but you have to enter the place with a certain mindset and not expect to find anything in particular. You can literally find anything here, even stuff you probably dont want to find or touch lol. Just have fun and maybe find something cool for cheap."

"These places are great for kids toys, especially outdoor toys so you can hose them down before use. Gloves are a great idea but thick gloves are probably safest as I've seen very sharp objects in the rummage bins. People wait around for new bins to come out so be prepared for a little competition. "Intresting place, you really have to dig around to find some treasure. The staff is nice and does their best to coordinate the bins and bring new things out. Fellow thrifters can get a bit wild when a new bin is rolled out and they all jump on it. Center bins are full of random clothes, all shapes , sizes , color, condition. Book bins are to the side as well as shoes. Furniture in the back and household randomness to the left of the store. It takes a bit of time and sorting but I can usually find somethings I am happy with. Prices are set by lb for clothes and books, shoes, glass,etc are at a set price. Quite affordable."

"This goodwill is disgusting. Please wear gloves when you're digging through bins and wear a mask cause the place smells bad almost like urine. Anyways, I love what I bought. I bought two sweaters, Levi jeans, and a plushie ALL for 5 dollars. I dont have any pics of the inside but I only have pics of what I bought. So, if you wanna find cute clothes you might find some here and you'll save a lot of money. Make sure you wash everything before trying them on. :)"
