"There’s a lot of neat stuff here. You will find some junk and some good stuff. You can sort through bins of packages and will be able to look at the label to see what is inside. Or you can have them open the package for you so you can see what’s inside and make sure all the pieces are there before purchasing. The best day to go is Friday when they restock. Everything is $10 that day but you get better items. They also do raffles on Friday for TVs and other bigger electronics. Throughout the week the prices..."

"Some things to understand: These are returned items that are purchased by the pallet and emptied into bins. Are you expecting amazing packaging? No. Is it fun and you might find something awesome? Yes! Is the service going to be the best? No. Are the prices outstanding? Yes! So as long as you know what you're walking into, this place is solid. You might come and find nothing, but you also might come and find that one random thing that is $20-50 for $4-10. Some of the boxes are taped up, but they have a "box opening" station where you..."

"If you want to simulate the Black Friday rush on any day of the year, come to this place. Peruse thousands of returned Amazon items like pigs at a trough since virtually nothing is organized. 90% of the merchandise is unlabeled or partially opened cardboard boxes, which makes it hard to tell what anything is. Most of what you see is holiday items that were used once and returned. Sure, if you really dig through dozens of boxes and are lucky you might get a deal and save something from going into the landfill."

"You can't really complain when prices are a dollar or two. I have exclusively came on 1 and 2 dollar days, the books and clothing are more than worth it. Sure, it's a bit messy, but what do you expect? Overall, I'm really happy it's here! The scents for both women and men are a bargain, you do get what you paid for, but you didn't pay much. So I can't complain once again, great experience, it's like hygienic dumpster diving in the best of ways."

What to Expect at a Bin Store in Austin

Bin stores in Austin work differently from regular thrift stores. Instead of neatly shelved items, merchandise arrives in large open bins directly from Amazon return pallets and liquidation lots. Here's what first-timers should know:

  • Bring reusable bags β€” most bin stores don't provide shopping bags.
  • Arrive early on restock day (Friday) for the best selection.
  • Check electronics at the testing station (if available) before you buy.
  • Prices drop each day β€” the longer you wait, the lower the price.
  • Cash is preferred at some smaller locations, though most accept cards.
