"This is not a normal bin store! The owners seem friendly! Nice people from my interactions with them and I know they are working hard. This review is solely on business model they are running. My perspective of overstock places usually are large bins of items that are not really sorted. These items however are heavily sorted and individually priced they sort the items and on the most expensive day set out the “premium” on Saturday. Anything left over from Saturday goes to Sunday and the price drops. However, the items they set out on Sunday are cheaper items at..."

"Overall a great selection of items. But recently a few items we’ve purchased are broken/missing parts and we don’t find out until we get home, which then requires another trip out. They say they check to make sure everything is in working order, but it doesn’t appear that anything in a box is checked for all parts/materials. The team is nice though and helpful. The points system is nice too. But if you get something in a box, check before you leave to make sure it works/isn’t broken/has all the parts. They do give us a refund, but overall the..."

"Went to the store for the first time in the evening on Wednesday, the $2 day, so please keep that in mind while reading the review. From my experience the bulk of the items in the store were from Target. Loads of great deals to be had for sure but I'm hoping to see more. I've always enjoyed going to bin stores because you never know what you'll find and you can always find things that you can't find in stores. I understand that Saturday is the best day to find your big ticket items. But I'm worried they will..."

"I didn’t even get in the store! There were people working in there and I just wanted to look through the windows to see what they had as I drove for Salem to check it out! Someone working in there pushed the door open before I got to it and rudely informed me that they were closed and they would open at 9 in the morning!! I was trying to reply that I saw that but wanted to look in windows and see if there was anything I might want to come back for. He very rudely informed me that..."

What to Expect at a Bin Store in Christiansburg

Bin stores in Christiansburg work differently from regular thrift stores. Instead of neatly shelved items, merchandise arrives in large open bins directly from Amazon return pallets and liquidation lots. Here's what first-timers should know:

  • Bring reusable bags — most bin stores don't provide shopping bags.
  • Arrive early on restock day (Saturday) for the best selection.
  • Check electronics at the testing station (if available) before you buy.
  • Prices drop each day — the longer you wait, the lower the price.
  • Cash is preferred at some smaller locations, though most accept cards.
